During a weekend event, a recently appointed Iranian governor was smacked on the stage by an official who approached him.
When the incident occurred, Zeinolabedin Khorram, the new governor of East Azerbaijan province, was on stage making a speech at the Imam Khomeini Mosque in the northeastern city of Tabriz.
A video uploaded online by Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency shows a guy approaching Khorram calmly, smacking him in the face, and then pushing him.
Security personnel rushed at the attacker and dragged him off stage.
